A Love of Writing and History

Katheryn Gallant is a native of Southern California. She began her writing career in the second grade when she won an essay contest on “From Sea to Shining Sea”. She has written for Brazzil and the Journal of Liberal History. Katheryn is an Anglophile and Francophile, a former aspiring Brazilianist (a non-Brazilian scholar whose field of research focuses on Brazil), a lover of the Victorian and Edwardian eras, and an aficionada of alternate history. She was an AWP Writer to Writer mentee for Fall 2021: her mentor was the historical novelist Maryka Biaggio. Katheryn’s fiction features real-life female protagonists.
